The principle of access to official documents
The Swedish National Financial Management Authority (ESV) is a Swedish State agency. As such, communications that are sent to us become official documents according to the principle of access to official documents. Personal data received by ESV by e-mail or other channels also become official documents.
Data controller
ESV is the data controller for all processing of personal data within the scope of ESV activities.
Processing of personal data
ESV processes personal data within the scope of our agency's activities, and only to the extent this is required in order to perform our duties.
All information that the Swedish Parliament and Government have commissioned ESV to perform are in the public interest. The processing of personal data undertaken by ESV thereby mainly relates to the public interest. When processing personal data, ESV considers whether the processing is appropriate, effective and not unnecessarily intrusive with regard to an individual's privacy..
ESV processes your personal data on its website whenever you
- register for educational programmes, conferences and other events that ESV is arranging
- apply for a job
- order publications
- register for a newsletter
- register as a user of Hermes.
ESV does not use any automated decision process and does not use your personal data as the basis of any profiling.
ESV stores your data on file only as long as is necessary, and as long as ESV is legally obligated to do so.
Right to request information
You are entitled to request information regarding your personal data that ESV processes, regardless of whether the data has been collected via our website or in some other way. You have the right to request rectification if you feel that ESV is processing your data incorrectly. You can also request that your data be deleted unless this information must be retained due to other laws or regulations, such as the rules about official documents and archiving
