ESV's involvement in international development co-operation is a result of the increasing focus on democracy and institutional capacity building in the development context. All the institutional development co-operation work carried out by the ESV is completely fee-financed. The work in South Africa is being done as part of Sida´s public administration support activities, and the work in Europe under the twinning activities on behalf of the EU.
